Accessibility Statement

A website built for everyone

God's Crusade International Ministries is committed to making this website usable by the widest possible audience — including people with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities, and people using assistive technology.

Our commitment

We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across the GCIM website. Accessibility is not a one-time project — we review new pages and features against these guidelines and welcome feedback from the people who use our site.

For users with low vision or blindness

  • Semantic HTML, page landmarks, and a single <main> region on every page.
  • A “Skip to main content” link appears as soon as you press Tab.
  • Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Body text uses tokens that meet AA contrast against the background, and the site supports browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content.
  • Form fields have visible or screen-reader-only labels; status messages use aria-live so they are announced.

For deaf and hard-of-hearing users

  • Critical information is provided in writing — service times, prayer requests, contact details, and event details are never audio-only.
  • Where we publish recorded teaching, we work to provide captions or written summaries.
  • Our Zoom Upper Room gatherings support live captions via the Zoom client.

For users with motor impairments

  • All functionality is operable from a keyboard — there are no mouse-only controls.
  • Interactive elements show a strong, visible focus ring when reached with the keyboard.
  • Tap targets on mobile meet a minimum 44×44 px size on primary navigation.
  • Forms allow autofill (autocomplete) so credentials and email addresses do not need to be retyped.

For users with cognitive or vestibular needs

  • We respect the operating-system “Reduce motion” setting — animations and smooth scroll are suppressed automatically.
  • Plain language and short paragraphs are used throughout content pages.
  • Navigation is consistent across pages — the same header, footer, and quick-action bar appear in the same place.
  • Errors are described in clear text, not by colour alone.

Keyboard shortcuts

  • Tab / Shift+Tab — move between interactive elements.
  • Enter — activate links and submit forms.
  • Space — activate buttons and toggle checkboxes.
  • Esc — close dialogs and pop-overs.

Known limitations

Some third-party embeds (for example Zoom, JustGiving, and YouTube) are controlled by external providers and may not match every guideline. We choose vendors who publish their own accessibility commitments and we link out clearly when leaving our site.

Tell us how we can do better

If something on this site is hard for you to use, or if you need information in an alternative format (large print, plain text, audio), please contact us — we will respond within 5 working days.
